Enrolling in a Five Star Medicare Advantage Plan
Five Star Medicare Advantage plans are the best plans available, with regard to service and quality of care. In an effort to help Medicare beneficiaries easily identify a health plan’s level of service and quality of care, the Center for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) assigns a star rating to each Medicare Advantage Health plan.
These ratings are updated each year, and range from 1 to 5 stars, with one star being the lowest rating. CarePlus is one of our preferred carriers because of their commitment to quality, as well as their continued 5 star rating by CMS.
While CMS doesn’t offer recommendations for any plan, however they do offer these ratings as a guide. CMS believes in these ratings so much that the offer a special election period for five star plans. In most cases, you can only change your plan during the Annual Enrollment Period in the fall. This is not the case when you are considering enrolling in a five star plan.
